Strawberry Kats takes as much action as we can to continually improve our social, economic and environmental sustainability. As a small business we have to carefully prioritise where we take action.

SOCIAL

Strawberry Kats donates our surplus and end of line stock to Oxfam to help their work around the world.

We provide our staff with fair wages and a safe working environment.

ECONOMIC

Many of our staff and freelance collaborators are also studying. We hope that the flexible working opportunities we provide help them complete their studies and develop their business experience.

We pay substantial amounts of tax (NI, VAT, corporation tax...) in the UK to help support the social infrastructure on which our business depends.

ENVIRONMENTAL

Strawberry Kats has developed a detailed checklist for our suppliers to review their environmental and social sustainability.

We switched from plastic to paper bags at our stall in Spitalfields, and are looking to reduce packaging waste wherever possible.

Through product labels we encourage our customers to wash Strawberry Kats garments in cool water to reduce their energy consumption and protect the climate. When it’s time for a change, we suggest customers take their clothes for recycling.
